A Spring Volunteer Fair will take place at the Kinder Farm Park Visitors Center, 1001 Kinder Farm Park Road, Millersville, 21108, on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 9 am until Noon.
This event will take place during National Volunteer Month. What better way to salute the work that volunteers do in our community than to give volunteer agencies a hand—not just applause—a little help.
Families, individuals, groups, in fact anyone who wants to learn about local volunteer and service opportunities, is encouraged to attend. There will be door prizes and light refreshments. We will also have a “grand-prize” drawing at 11 am for two tickets ($120 value) to the Volunteer Center’s Nite at the Races May 10th event at the DoubleTree Annapolis Hotel.
Organizations will be sharing information about opportunities for volunteers of all ages. Groups participating include the Volunteer Center, A.A. Dept of Recreation. and Parks, (including youth summer volunteer opportunities and Parks Friends Groups), the Watershed Stewards Academy, RSVP and Dept. of Aging & Disabilities, Pets on Wheels, Meals on Wheels, Maryland Therapeutic Riding, Chesapeake Children’s Museum, Girl Scouts of Central Maryland, Assistance League of the Chesapeake, Historic Annapolis Foundation, Center of Help (Centro de Ayuda), Partners in Care, Asbury Church Assistance Network, A.A. Co. Dept. of Social Services and Bello Machre.
Parking is free if you are attending the Spring Volunteer Fair. Note that in addition to the Volunteer Fair you can enjoy many exhibits at the Visitors Center.
