Eastport, Maryland– The public is cordially invited to attend the First Annual Eastport Oktoberfest and Beer Can Regatta on Saturday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Rain or Shine) at the EDC, 525 State Street in Eastport. The historic private club, established in 1929, will host a fun family- and pet-friendly local Oktoberfest. Along with great food, music, and of course, plenty of beer, the Chesapeake Outdoor Group will hold its annual beer can regatta, where local sailors and boating enthusiast create astonishing sailing vessels out of beer cans and then race them for bragging rights. Anyone interested in competing in the Regatta can visit www.chesapeakeoutdoor.org Additionally, we will have rubber ducky races and other activities for the public to participate in.

2 – 6 p.m. Music and Entertainment
6– 8 p.m. Post-Race Celebration (Inside)
Duck Races will take place every hour on the hour
Refreshments will be available for purchase including a Great Selection of German Beers, German food, including bratwursts and sauerkraut, freshly-shucked oysters on the half shell, and much more. A portion of the proceeds of the 2016 Oktoberfest will benefit the Back Creek Conservancy.
