Dr. Clara Carter former Director of Training and Technical Assistance for the Maryland Mentoring Partnership will be the guest speaker for the quarterly Mentoring Roundtable on July 28, 2010, 5:00pm at the Roger “Pip” Moyer Recreational Center at Truxton Park on Hilltop Lane.
The Mentoring Roundtable for the third quarter of 2010 will be held in partnership with the City of Annapolis and the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis and is open to individuals, business-based, faith-based, and community-based mentoring programs.
Dr. Carter, an expert in the mentoring movement, assisting individuals and groups in starting mentoring programs and providing technical assistance to organizations and individuals throughout the state of Maryland will focus on good mentoring practices as well as the need for mentee training.
Dr. Charles Christian, author of Black Saga and founder of the Statewide Black Saga competition held annually between elementary and middle school children, will also be on hand to talk about the benefits of this competition for all children.
Join the Volunteer Center, the City of Annapolis, and the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis (HACA) for an evening of fun, light food, and great conversation focused on mentoring and activities to engage and support the youth of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County.
