Residents of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County will join millions of Americans to volunteer on Make A Difference Day, Saturday, October 22, 2016. Sponsored this year by TEGNA Media in collaboration with Points of Light and Arby’s Foundation, Make a Difference Day is the nation’s largest annual single-day of community service.
The Anne Arundel County Volunteer Center is recruiting and referring volunteers for many volunteer activities taking place on Make a Difference Day and throughout October. Unite with other volunteers in a common mission to improve the lives of others. Some of the organizations with activities taking place in our area this year include:

- Assistance League of the Chesapeake Children’s Book Drive
- Happy Helpers for the Homeless Day of Service in Glen Burnie

The Anne Arundel County Volunteer Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, established in 2001 and an affiliate of the Points of Light/HandsOn Network. The Volunteer Center inspires and coordinates volunteers, engages and supports nonprofits, and builds coalitions with businesses, to strengthen Anne Arundel County and improve lives in the community. On average, each year AACVC engages over 4000 volunteers with over 400 non-profits.
