Thanksgiving Farm Winery now Open for Tastings

At the invitation of Maryland State Senator Edward Reilly, some AAACCVB staff members participated in a tour and tasting at Southern Anne Arundel County’s first winery last week.  While Thanksgiving Farm Winery in Harwood has been growing grapes for the past few years, owners Maureen and Doug Heimbuch recently completed construction of a tasting room that is open to the public on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Thanksgiving Farm wines are made exclusively from grapes that are hand picked from the 58-acre vineyard. The winery focuses on producing a single, premium red wine made from a blend of Bordeaux grapes – their Meritage wine. The Heimbuchs also produce a light bodied red wine, Farmhouse Red, and a Dry Rose.
